Friday Football Preview 10/6

Michigan State @ Michigan, 7:30 pm, ABC: Its rivalry week here in the Mitten State. Folks, if you came here to read a well written, unbiased opinion about the game this week, YOU MUST HAVE WENT TO MICHIGAN STATE! Boom, roasted. I do think this game will be closer than what an outsider would think. It is Michigan States biggest rivalry game on the schedule and they certainly don’t want to be embarrassed on national television like they did against Notre Dame. Michigan, on the other hand, has more talent, playing a night game at home, and has the better coaching staff. Michigan States defense has been unpredictable throughout this season and when paired with a new QB for the Wolverines in John O’Korn, it is a coin toss on how the Michigan O will fair. The Michigan Defense is an absolute animal like it was last year. It may even be better. If LJ Scott has ball security issues and the Spartans can’t get the ground game going, it is going to be open season on Lewerke for that Michigan front 7. Vegas opened this one at Michigan -14 now it has been pushed down to Michigan -10. If you are looking at putting a little action on the game, keep this in mind; The only two teams in the country to win all their games by double digits are Michigan and Alabama. The score will be more lopsided than the game was because of a couple late Michigan scores. PREDICTION: Michigan 27- Michigan State 10

Panthers @ Lions, 1 pm, FOX: After a road win against a division foe, the Lions come back home looking to keep the train rolling. The Panthers went into Foxboro and upset the Pats on a last second field goal. Is Cam and company back? No, the Patriots defense has real problems and are actually the worst in the league per Pro Football Focus. The Lions defense on the other hand is turning the ball over at an unprecedented rate (11). Cam is also dealing with a media controversy so that could be weighing on his mind. All these things are adding up for an advantage to the Lions defense. Add Jarrad Davis, out of concussion protocol, into the mix and the Lions could convert more skeptics into believers. Stafford and the rest of the Lions’ offense will get back on track this week because the Carolina defense is no where near what the Vikings defense is. Lions win easy and send the  raucous Ford Field crowd home happy. PREDICTION: Lions 24- Panthers 13
